Hi, I'm Emma
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. I live abroad as an expatriate in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually opened up a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Netherlands wasn’t in the grand plan. Like many relocations for expats, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were challenging — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores felt more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of hands-on learning. But gradually, routines took hold. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Cipher Serene Kinetic
Most information online was either corporate relocation advice or surface tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Netherlands.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't Do)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism-authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Netherlands continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, please feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Emma
